Actually, there are far more than 1000 varieties of this fruit, which is among the most well-known tropical fruits in the world. Only a few varieties have been able to make it in the food industry, however. When so many types are available, it’s obvious that their flavor and aroma can’t be described in a single sentence. A basic distinction is made between the sweet, peach-like mangos and the varieties that remind you of turpentine.

Mangos grow on trees that can be as tall as 25 meters. According to literature, they originated in Southeast Asia. Today, mango trees can be found in almost all tropical countries.

Certain mango varieties excel, containing more provitamin A than any other fruit. Vitamin A is not only supposed to improve your vision but also to slow down your skin’s aging process.
