“Bem-Vindo!” to the superfruit from Brazil

The land of the Sugarloaf Mountain is positively overflowing with delicious fruit varieties that were unknown in Europe until recently – including the umbu.

The umbu tree alone is a small sensation. It braves severe droughts and is found in semi-deserts, especially in northeastern Brazil. It’s a real blessing for the farmers of that region.

The aromatic umbu fruit is the size of a small orange and its sweet, tart aroma is like a blend of gooseberry and grape.
