The fine flavor of the prickly pear is best described as a symbiosis of melon and pear. That’s why this exotic fruit is most suitable as a single flavor and doesn’t have to be combined with other fruits. At most, a few drops of calamansi or lemon juice would enhance the deep red purée. The largest cultivation area continues to be in Mexico.
